STRAŽA
Straža offers plenty
The ascent on Straža isn't difficult. The trail is pleasant and surrounded with pine, oak, lime and birch trees.
Straža is a smaller hill, most suitable for pleasant walks and summer and winter activities. You can conquer it by taking the well-arranged hiking trail or by taking the chair lift. Straža is known as the finest Bled viewpoint rising above the south-eastern lake shore, offering views at Lake Bled, the Bled Castle, Jelovica plateau and Mt. Stol.-

Straža is a smaller hill, most suitable for pleasant walks and summer and winter activities. You can conquer it by taking the well-arranged hiking trail or by taking the chair lift. Straža is known as the finest Bled viewpoint rising above the south-eastern lake shore, offering views at Lake Bled, the Bled Castle, Jelovica plateau and Mt. Stol.-
OSOJNICA is one of the favourite viewpoints for photographers so prepare for a stunning view.
There is an approximately 45 minute long walk along the steep forest path leading to Mala Osojnica (685 m) and another 20 minute walk leading to the top of Velika Osojnica (756m). The ascent will reward you with the finest views of Lake Bled and its outlying areas, Karavanke mountains, Kamnik Alps and the Gorenjska plain. All the well-known panoramas of Bled have been shot from there for a reason.
Must-enjoy

Velika Osojnica
OSOJNICA is one of the favourite viewpoints for photographers so prepare for a stunning view.
There is an approximately 45 minute long walk along the steep forest path leading to Mala Osojnica (685 m) and another 20 minute walk leading to the top of Velika Osojnica (756m). The Radovna river cuts the Vintgar gorge deep between the hills of Hom and Boršt.
In 1893 the gorge was opened to the public. Constructing a secured tourist trail through the wild gorge was a demanding and an extremly dangerous task. The roar of the fettered Radovna river echoes along the 1.600 m long gorge, full of small waterfalls, rapids and erosion potholes where the river briefly slows down its pace. Trails, narrow passages and bridges lead a visitor to the end of the gorge, witch is marked by the magnificiant, 16 m high waterfall Šum, the highest fluvial waterfall in Slovenia.
The Vintgar gorge is closed to public in the winter period.

80 Podhom The Radovna river cuts the Vintgar gorge deep between the hills of Hom and Boršt.
In 1893 the gorge was opened to the public. Constructing a secured tourist trail through the wild gorge was a demanding and an extremly dangerous task. Ajdna (1064 m) is a peak in the Karawanks in the Municipality of Žirovnica in the Upper Carniola region of Slovenia. Access to it is easiest from the village of Potoki in the neighbouring Municipality of Jesenice.
A settlement from late Antiquity has been found just below the summit and evidence shows that it was probably inhabited much earlier.
Ajdna has been declared an archaeological monument of national importance by the Slovene government.

Climb on castle and take a walk across the castle's courtyard. The view of Lake Bled is certainly something you will never forget.
When the Bohinj glacier moved to the north during the ice age, and by doing so shaped the basin of the present Lake Bled, it found itself in front of one more obstacle. The high limestone mass at the northern side of the lake was not particularly damaged by the glacier. Consequently it became a home for the castle which stands there ever since the Middle ages and which also gave this solitary hill its name. The route over the Pokljuka Plateau offers a very scenic alternative to the main road for getting back to Bled.
