To get to the actual tunnel (it was built on a former railroad bed) you must ride, hike, or drive to the Tunnel Hill trailhead. It's about 35 minutes from the Apartment. However, the entire trail is beautiful hiking or biking. We have seen deer, birds, squirrels, and ground squirrels on the trail beginning in Harrisburg.

Go south on Highway 1 about 24 miles to Karbers Ridge Road, then west for 3 miles to the Rim Rock entrance road.

The Heartland Regional Aquatics Center at The HUB Recreation Center is the smart center of family recreation and learn-to-swim excitement! Located on the west side of the facility, three different pools fill the one-of-a-kind natatorium.

It is recognized as a leading zoo in animal management, research, conservation, and education. The zoo is accredited by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums. Admission is free based on a public subsidy from a cultural tax district, the Metropolitan Zoological Park and Museum District; fees are charged for some special attractions. A special feature is the 2 ft narrow gauge Emerson Zooline Railroad with passenger trains pulled by Chance Rides C.P. Huntington locomotives that encircle the zoo, stopping at the more popular attractions.

They also have special music guests. It is walking distance from the Apartment or a 3 minute drive. I have been for a party but not to throw. Some of our guests went and had a great time throwing!

The National Quilt Museum is a destination for quilters and art enthusiasts worldwide, annually the Museum receive visitors from all 50 US states and over 45 foreign countries from every continent. The Museum's in-facility and traveling exhibits are viewed by over 110,000 people per year. In addition, over 6,000 youth and adults participate in Museum youth and adult educational opportunities on an annual basis.
Located in a 27,000 square foot facility in historic downtown Paducah, Kentucky, the Museum's three galleries feature exhibits of the finest quilt and fiber art in the world. The Museum features three exhibit galleries. The Museum's vibrant and breathtaking exhibits are rotated 8-10 times per year. The primary gallery features quilts from the Museum's collection which includes over 500 works of art. The two other galleries feature unique and diverse traveling exhibits.
American Quilters Society holds two QuiltWeeks in Paducah each year, spring and fall.
