Surrounded by steep cliffs, this park is a marvel. Take the stone-stairs up to the top and get a breathtaking view of the park. Have a stroll in between the flowers an the trees. Enjoy the sight of the swan "Oscar", but dont challenge him, he can be moody!!! Sit down on the lovely restaurant/café called "Generalen". There are concerts here from time to time.

Watch the sunset, take a swim or just enjoy the sight of this shallow beach where children love to play and hunt for small crabs among the rocks on the right side of the beach . Break a mussel and use it for bate! (We don't eat them, they're too small!)

Beach and quay for swimming and a volleyball net for activity. No drive-in. 5 - 10 minutes walk to get there, Nice place because the western winds doesn't bother you here.

Aks me about this one, and I will show you how to get to some of the most wonderful seaside places!! A must see art Flekkerøy.
Flekkerøy is well known for all its wonderful seaside spots. There is plenty of places which doesn't show on google maps, so it's hard to pin them on the map.....

An old military bunker from the 2nd World War. Enjoy a breathtaking view from the bunker, or take the short, steep walk up "Brattåsen" to get to the very top point. Dont't forget to breath in the fresh air and smell the salt from the water. It will make you feel younger, I promise! ;-)

This little paradise will give you a quite and refreshing experience if you dear to jump into the water. A loverly place to be. Enjoy the white sand, and take a little was on the rocks nearby. Supported from the western winds, this is a precious beach in my opinion. It seems though, the the vegetation is growing fast around the beach - almost swallowing it- leaving less and less sand visible. Go visit - before it disappears!!

Ugelen is one of those forgotten places that only the sheep treasure nowadays. It used to be a perfect spot for jumping in and playing for families with kids. I guess the approximately 2 km walk inhibits people from using the beach anymore. The reason why I want to write about it, is the beauty of it, and also because it is a pass-trough on the track to Ansteins Lighthouse (which doesn't show on the google maps). This is a walk/hike I really recommend! A small parking space allows 2-3 cars to squeeze in next to the road. Then you have to use your feet to get to Ugelen beach and to the lighthouse. Easiest way back is to walk the same path back again. Say "Hello" to the sheep from me - they really enjoy the nature there...

The best zoo you will ever visit. We promise. Animals in one part, activities and fun in the other part. They also have a waterpark. It is beautiful gardened, an has a lot of restaurants. During summer they run a show every night. A very popular one - its hard to get tickets!

A wonderful old genuine steam locomotive can tak you some kilometers forth and back on the railway of "Setesdalsbanen". Take the railway and sit down in old wagons listening to the old sound of a real steam engine. Get the feel of ancient times while you enjoy the view outside the window. Remember to buy a round trip ticket, so you don't have to walk the looooong way back!

Ecological food and drinks. Music once in a while. A small really neat and different place where the artist stay... Some of my best music experiences took place at this tiny café. You don't believe it when you see it, but I think they managed to squeeze in 2000 people at a minimum ;-)
