This is a 7 course set menu, local fresh produce every day and is extremely good food. Long rectangular tables so expect to get to know the people next to you, extremely friendly. It is always busy so booking is definitely advisable. This is one of our favourites to go for supper on special occasions.

The Manna House is celebrating ten years on Easter Road and we do love it. As well as breads, buns and cakes, they serve tasty healthy salads and tarts that make a great lunch treat. You can also sit in - it's a small place and it gets pretty busy though, so you may need to wait for a seat. On a nice day you can grab your goodies and walk a few minutes across to Montgomery Road Park to enjoy them. All a stone throws from our apartment.

This is a little bit of everything, eclectic clientele, bright furniture and extremely welcoming. This is the perfect spot to start a night out. During the day it turns into a creche and the kids can play. We love visiting here.

Parks & Nature

Arthurs Seat and Salisbury Crags are natural rock formations in Edinburgh's Holyrood Park. The park is probably the most astonishing urban park in the UK and not only because it is ideally suited for a wide range of activities but because it's one of the best vantage points in Edinburgh. The views from Salisbury Crags and the top of Arthur's Seat are extraordinary. You get a sweeping view of Edinburgh's Old Town skyline -- the Hub, St Giles' cathedral, the Royal Bank of Scotland building, the Balmoral clock tower, Calton Hill and of course, Edinburgh Castle. Closer at hand you have a view of the new Scottish Parliament and also a view down Holyrood Palace and Abbey. You can see the Pentland
