Sightseeing
This is the oldest historical site on Kos, only discovered in the 1950's. It is believed to be the first hospital in the world, dedicated to the Greek God Asklepios. It is a very large site, with lots of steps, but the views across to Turkey at the top are worth it! Closed on Mondays, as are all historical sites.

The village is now situated on the hill. Worth a visit for the fabulous views, the ruined castle, a wander around the back streets to see the genuine traditional houses and narrow streets. Village life at its best!

Some are tacky with touristy favourites, but others like The Spinning Wheel and Delfi have handmade Greek ceramics, jewellery and pottery. Great for sunset dinners, too! For lunch and the best milkshakes on the island, go to Fytorio, The Village Tavern, where Theodosis will serve you with a smile and great food.

This is also known as the Hidden Forest, as you can't see it until you are in it. Here you will find 50+ wild peacocks and a terrapin pool. It is really cool and peaceful in the forest. Great for a ramble and a picnic.
