If you have a 4X4 drive up to Duck, walk the waterfront walking path along the sound, winding through shops, restaurants, and natural paths. Then continue north 15 minutes and stop by the Currituck lighthouse in Corolla at the Whalehead Club, then continue to the end of the road. Drive along the beach about 10 miles to find the wild horses frolicking in the waves, or munching on the grasses in the dunes. Amazing sights!! Then the houses literally begin to pop up out of the dunes. No roads, just accessible by boat from the sound, or driving on the beach.
