The trails are for all fitness levels from walking trails to challenging climbs. There are also picnic facilities, and a natural adventure playground. The main trail was named Ji'ka'we'katik Trail - after the traditional Mi'kmaq name for the West River. Ji'ka'we'katik (Pronounced - Jih Ga Way Ga Dig) means "the place where bass are plentiful" in Mi'kmaq.

Shopping
One of our favourite antique stops on the island. The converted church it is located in is a masterpiece of its own (make sure to look up the clock tower when you arrive). Incredible finds and treasures. Not light on the pocketbook if you're hoping to score a find but well worth the visit. If the owner is in shop and you strike up a conversation, be prepared to stay for a while - he's got some great stories.
