Just out of Edinburgh, you can actually walk there. Has amazing views of the three bridges going over the Firth of Forth. From here you can get sightseeing boats to Inchcolm Island to see the puffins.

Like Rome Edinburgh is surrounded by seven hills - you can walk them all in one day!!! What with hills and cobbles bring flat shoes for walking.
