BEACH DAYS
PEI is famous for them! Here’s a list of our favourite beaches
Popular beach & national park! Closest beach to the Banbridge Only a 17 minute drive. Long stretches of white sand dunes great for walking or swimming! Brackley main is the busiest, for less crowds go towards Robinsons Island trails or stop at beaches in Stanhope, Dalvay or Covehead. Richard’s Seafood in Covehead does excellent lobster rolls etc!

A great add on to a Victoria road trip or a pit-stop on your way to or from the Confederation Bridge. Classic red sand beach of the south shore (always warmer water than the north shore)! Provincial park which means free parking and admission. Be sure to check the tide table for the south shore before visiting! At low tide you can walk for miles and see locals clamdigging. At high tide there won’t be much room for walking but it’s great for a dip!

In the rolling hills of New Glasgow - a scenic 25 minute drive. Perfect place to stop for breakfast en route to a day exploring the north shore! Serving breakfast lunch & supper. If we had to pick we’d always go for breakfast or tea & raspberry pie! Buy some preserves & stroll around their lovely gardens on the banks of the River Clyde.

Charlottetown Farmer’s Market (every Wednesday and Saturday)
Only 5 minute drive from the Banbridge. Alternatively a nice walk via the confederation trail (pick it up behind the Charlottetown Mall). The best of local organic produce, fish, coffee, artisanal bread, baked goods and artisans.

City parking is free after 4pm
Parking is limited in the busy & small downtown waterfront area of the city. Most parking is metered but it is free after 4pm. Always be prepared to walk a couple of blocks of going to the theatre or dining out.

Taxi Ride
PEI is too small a place for Uber or Lyft ;) A taxi from the Banbridge to the waterfront area is a short 5-10 minute drive that costs approximately $8-10 one way.

Confederation Centre of the Arts
Don’t let it’s concrete exterior fool you - the confederation centre of the arts is home to the famous musical Anne of Green Gables it’s a world renowned centre for theatre! And the Art Gallery is not to be missed. When owner, Sean is not at the Banbridge he can be found working as a musician and musical director for productions like Hairspray and Mama Mia :)
