Beach
Cavendish Beach is PEI’s best-known beach. It has miles of white-gold sand surrounded and protected by gorgeous sand dunes. If living the beach life is an addiction then Cavendish Beach is the gateway drug. It’s located right in the heart of Cavendish within the National Park, which makes it super convenient for a family trip to the ocean. If you’re on the hunt for things to do, this beach has got it covered. Explore the walking trails or take part in the Park’s interpretive programs on beach ecology and wildlife. Weekly programs include expert advice on how to make the coolest sandcastles. The PEI National Park protects its dunes by limiting foot and bicycle traffic to designated paths and boardwalks. So no dune surfing here! Likewise, the north shore beaches are important nesting habitats for endangered birds like the Piping Plover so dogs are not permitted on the beach.
