A beautiful city park with forested and Northwest Arm waterfront trails. The memorial tower can be climbed from April 15 to November 15. 10 minute walk from the Air BnB to the first trail head.

A heritage site associated with a burial site for the remains of US military and others who died at a nearby prison (used during the war of 1812 and as a quarantine site). A plaque at the site lists the US servicemen who died there. The former prison building is across the water. A trail through the woods leads you to this small park and historic site. Memorial Day (U.S.) service is held annually at the park. 10 minute walk.

A nice place to view the entrance to Halifax Harbour. Walking trails. Be prepared for some boggy/muddy sections! There is a large cairn (collection of rocks) as a memorial to a young man, Joe Cracker, who helped rescue survivors from the wreck of the ship Tribune in 1797.

A nice place to view the entrance to Halifax Harbour. Walking trails. Be prepared for some boggy/muddy sections! There is a large cairn (collection of rocks) as a memorial to a young man, Joe Cracker, who helped rescue survivors from the wreck of the ship Tribune in 1797.
