Parks & Nature
Søndermarken/Frederiksberg gardens is the perfect place for a peaceful walk or run. Søndermarken and Frederiksberg gardens is surrounding the Copenhagen zoo. You can even see some of the animals without entering the zoo :) In summer and weekends it is a real popular spot for tourists and locals so I recommend coming early to get the place for yourself:)

In my second favourite part of Copenhagen, Nørrebro, you'll find the world renowned "Superkilen" also known as Nørrebroparken. It is a modern park which features elements from countries, cities and cultures from all nationalities living in Nørrebro. It is a place not too central, meaning it don't get too much tourism but it really is a gem if you want to experience modern day Copenhagen. Great for photos!

If the weathers good, this is where you'll find half of Copenhagen. Eat, drink and jump in the harbour with the rest of Copenhagen. Here you can also book a boat to have your own private tour of Copenhagen, it's called goboat (book in advance).) A 2km walk or bike from home.

This boulevard is also one of the places where people meet up for drinks, fun and games in the summer. Hang out with the locals, go to the corner kiosk named 'Kioskh' for drinks (ps. they have a secret beer cellar!), get take away pizza from Itzi Pizzi Pizza, or have a huge fresh salad from Bagelman (cash only) - you'll find these three places centered around the corner of Dybbølsgade and Sønder boulevard.

Brass Monkey is one of the coolest cocktail bars in all of Copenhagen. It doesn't look like much on the outside, but wait 'till you get inside! No more needed to say :)

This is one of my favourite nightclubs in Copenhagen, located in the old meatpacking district situated only 1km from my home. In the daytime and evening they serve food, but after 23 it really livens up. Typically house music, cheap beers and a full dancefloor. What's not to like? I recommend arriving before 1 am as it almost always have a que. When you're in the meatpacking there is so many restaurants, bars and nightclubs. http://bakkenkbh.dk/

In Bremen theatres basement you find my favourite nightclub by far called "Natbar"! It has the most amazing vibe to it, always a packed dancefloor and a cool atmosphere. Not the cheapest place, but free entrance is a plus. Come early as it's queing up quickly. You'll often find cool acts playing live a swell. Go go go! PS. It closes in a period during summer and winter, so I recommend checking opening hours online: natbar.dk

One of Copenhagen's best cocktail bars you'll find drawn away from the busy street of Vesterbrogade. I love the place for the good (but expensive) drinks, but more than that for the decor! www.lidkoeb.dk

Latest craze to hit Copenhagen is Cider. Holm Cider is both a bar and shop only selling Ciders(!), it's small and simple, but the vast difference in taste and complexity of the Cider really is amazing. If you're lucky, the bartender will give you a free sample tasting, but I won't make any promises;) If you need inspiration my favourite is the French ciders, but the Danish ones are also great.

Carlsberg is world famous for it's beer. They claim themselves that it's "Probably the best beer in the world". If so, here's your chance to see how it was made in the good old days only 1km from the apartment. :)

This is the best live venue in all of Copenhagen (in my humble opinion)! It features three stages, Store Vega (holds 1550), Lille Vega (holds 500), and Ideal Bar (holds 275). Here you'll find a full programme all year round with music from all genres and corners of the world. Ideal Bar even turns into a hip nightclub in the weekends, check out their programme here: http://vega.dk/calendar Oh, and did I mention it's 150 meters down my street?

Located a bit outside of the city (access by train) this museum is internationally renowned, not only for it's exhibitions, but it's location and architecture. They sell their extremely popular posters, which could be a nice memorabilia from Copenhagen :) Frequent trains from the central station all day.

In Glyptoteket you'll find the vast private collection of Carlsberg's founder, Carl Jacobsen. He was an avid collector af antiques, art from ancient cultures and empires from all over the world. An truly amazing collection. Jacobsen donated his collection in 1888 to the Danish people. The oldest part of Glyptoteket is from 1897. The winter garden inside is truly beautiful. Free on Tuesdays!

Sightseeing
When talking about Copenhagen abroad, the Tivoli gardens is always mentioned. It is a very unique place in the middle of Copenhagen, about a 15 min walk from my apartment, but it's definitely not cheap. It is quite touristy, being one of the worlds oldest operating theme parks (opened in 1843). It has world class rides and foods, but just a walk inside with an ice cream is more than sufficient. I prefer going in the evening as the whole place lights up. On Fridays from April-September you have free concerts hosting huge names like Kanye West, Jessie J etc etc. It only costs the entrance which is 110DKK (no rides included). This is a must!!

The world famous free town of Christiania is a must see when in Copenhagen. It is a quite fascinating place with a lot of character. Go for a walk by the dam and be amazed of all the illegal architectural creations people live in. Pay attention to Christiania's local rules or you'll might face a lifted finger. No running/biking and no photos are the two most relevant. People are nice and laid back, unfortunately there is a lot of tourists in the summertime (guided tours etc.)

Probably as hipster as it gets. Located in Nørrebro, you have all kinds of indie eateries, microbreweries, shops etc. Some of my favourite restaurants/cafes are 'Relae,' 'Grød', 'Manfreds', and 'Coffee Collective'. Oh, and grab an nitrogen ice-cream at 'Istid.' Combine it with a trip to the world renowned park Superkilen (Den Røde Plads)

The street of Istedgade is located a 300 meter walk from the apartment. It goes from the music venue Vega all the way down to the central station. Here you'll find hip cafés, bars and stores. Some of my favourites are Bang & Jensen (café/bar), DANSK Made For Rooms (interiour design), Boutique Lize (Bar), Byens Bogcafé (Book café) and so much more:) This is the heart of Vesterbro.

When you see a photo or postcard from Copenhagen, it is more than likely that this place is what is pictured. Nyhavn is a very scenic, but also very touristy place. Danes tend to keep away from it due to the highly overpriced food and beer. But if you can get some great pictures of the colourfull facades of Nyhavn. It's worth to see, but not to eat there! From Nyhavn there's also frequent boat tours which is quite a nice trip in the city's harbour and canals.

This is an awesome place. It's an old church made into a public space for all kinds of activities. They describe the place themselves as "..consider this as an extension of your own livingroom".
