Gastronomia
Here you can find my favorite Barcelona restaurants, bars and coffee shops. They are all local cuisine and delicious!
One of the best paella places in the city, located in a beautiful area near the sea. If the day is sunny and you can choose a table at their lively terrace, you'll have a nice view and a nice experience.

One of the most traditional and famous Barcelona seafood places, quite peculiar. Set menu, you get what they offer (though after they've served you what they offer, you can ask for more if you're still hungry :). It's a bit expensive, but I heard their seafood is superior, and that is one of Woody Allen's favorite places in Barcelona!

One of the most famous and old tapas places in Barcelona, very good, lively and affordable, located in La Barceloneta area. You'll find many tourists, as well as locals. It's run by a family, it's a bit small and you'll have to wait in line for a little while normally, but if you want to experience an authentic Catalan experience you can't miss it. Oh, and don't forget to try their "Bomba", they are famous for it :)

It's a quite curious restaurant: it looks like a fish shop when you get in, so you can choose only the fish and seafood they fished that day. After you choose, they cook it and serve it. There are a few of this, one in El Born, another close to La Sagrada Família and a few others scattered around the city. The food is very good and the experience quite unique.

Barris
Lively during the day, quiet during the night, Sant Antoni is a neighbourhood that screams "local": local restaurants, local bars, local shops... You'll find in here the Barcelona that wakes up every morning, goes to work, picks up their children from school and buys groceries for dinner. The neighbourhood's main spot is the Sant Antoni Market, one of the biggest and oldest local markets in Barcelona, where you can see, aside from the typical food and clothes stands, some Roman ruins that have been recently discovered.

One of the oldest, this is the "by the sea" neighbourhood in Barcelona: you can take a stroll by the beach first and the walk the narrow, old and colourful streets of the area, making sure to stop at any of the typical restaurants it has to offer (like La Cova Fumada, one of the most famous restaurants in Barcelona). It's also very culturally diverse, which makes walking through it a unique experience, especially during a sunny day!

Authentic, lively, beautiful, unique, with lots of little shops and restaurants, a place to wander and get lost to the very Barcelona essence. You can't miss it! Also, during the two first weeks of August, the neighbours decorate their streets and have concerts and others . A very special place indeed!
