The museum's permanent collection includes over 13,000 modern and contemporary art pieces including books, costumes, drawings, media works, paintings, photography, prints, and sculpture.

There's a cool place called Wheel Fun Rentals (https://wheelfunrentals.com/mn/minneapolis/lake-calhoun/rentals/) that rents kayaks, standup paddle boards, paddle boats, canoes, and bikes. Adjacent to Wheel Fun Rentals is Lola's on the Lake (https://www.lolascafemn.com), a lakeside restaurant that is great for grabbing a quick bite.
Note: Wheeled Fun Rentals and Lola's only operate during the warm months.
