City/town information

Maryborough is about an hours drive from Hervey Bay and well worth a visit. It is a lovely old historic town with a Military Museum, a Heritage listed Government Bond Store, Gatakers Artspace, and of course the lady who made Maryborough famous, the Story Bank Mary Poppins Museum. Every year around July/August there is a Mary Poppins Festival. Every Thursday from 7am to midday is the very popular City Market, a good chance to check out the local produce. The Mary River runs right through the town and there are lots of walking tracks surrounded by beautiful gardens and plenty of seating to enjoy a picnic and the river views.
