I just had their Elderberry & Grilled Shrimp Salad! Super yummy! During the summer it's enjoyable to sit outside of the bar and eat lunch or dinner. Hill's is just three miles away. Good chicken tacos for lunch. Another of my favorite things to order as an appetizer (or dinner for myself) is the Brie & Garlic, or the Smoked Trout with Capers (when they get this back on the menu). Huckleberry lemonade is good too!

I grew up working at Elkin's and lived in Cabin #10 for a couple years! This rustic resort was build in 1932 and has a wonderful beach area. The Huckleberry Daiquiri is yummy and I also get this for my kids (virgin of course!). I sit on the red yard furniture while the kid's run across the bridge to the volleyball net/kid's beach area (so I can still see them). Something different to try is the doughnut holes for dessert dipped in huckleberry cream sauce. The morel mushroom appetizer is a MUST for EVERYONE to try. To get to Elkin's drive 10 miles NORTH on Hwy 57, then at Nordman take a RIGHT onto Reeder Bay Road. Proceed 3 miles approximately. Quick driveway entrance will be on the RIGHT.

Elkins Resort On Priest Lake

Ledgewood Day Use area is a long beach, great for taking your pets and children on hot days. You can also use the picnic tables and grills on the beach too. This is located 10 miles NORTH on Hwy 57. At Nordman take a RIGHT onto Reeder Bay Road. Go 3ish miles and pass Elkin's on the RIGHT. Go another mile or so and see Ledgewood Day Use Area on the RIGHT. The entrance comes up quick, so drive slowly.

Fun to stop in to our local museum and learn about our local heroin Nell Shipman. She was one of the very first silent screen actresses, as well as director, writer, and producer.

Built in 1906, the Leonard Paul Store just reopened in May of 2021. We are super excited to see this icon Priest Lake store open again! You can order food here as well! Some of my photography cards will be for sale at this location as well. -Autumn

This is one of my favorite places. You can hike amongst rocks right in the crick! Be careful in early spring though. Lionhead Campground on the lake, also has fun easy trails. See the sunken Tyee II boat, and Nell Shipman's area where she had her movie production studio and kept over 75 animal actors. Super cool! I have a few great photographs of Lions Head Creek that I sell as metals or photocards. We used to huckleberry pick up there and we even swam in the carved out pools among the granite. Such a treasure! Many families hike all the way to the natural slides and slide down the granite rock on thick garbage bags. I've done it twice. I do not suggest it for older/larger adults, kids are fine though. It's fun to sit at the bottom and watch others slide down. Though be careful, my cell phone went down the slides before I did!

Take your pet to the dog beach at Indian Creek State Campground. Walk along the actual creek, or take your bike. Flowers and fauna are identified off the trail. I used to camp right on this creek before the campground grew and evolved!

Coolin is located at the south tip of Priest Lake. Founded in 1890ish by Andy Coolin as he built the Northern Hotel. The Tyee Coffee Company is now located down at the water as well as the Leonard Paul Store founded in 1906. Fun places to stop and see the local life and also enjoy lake views.

Verizon & AT&T
These cell phone carriers used to have the best service. With the influx of people moving to our Priest Lake area, all service has drastically decreased. If hiking or going out in the woods we suggest carrying a personal locator beacon.

Bear Whistle & Spray
If going out hiking be aware we have a lot of wildlife in the area. Always be loud, to let wildlife know you are coming. If you are alone (not suggested) please sing out loud and carry bear spray, a whistle, and personal locator beacon. There are black bear, grizzly bear, cougars, moose, elk, deer, wolverines (rarely seen). Just be aware and pay attention to your surroundings. I grew up in these woods and it is an amazing place to explore, but be respectful of the animals. This is their home first, before it was ours.
