The Belmont Stake is iconic and exuberant in some ways. Every year at the beginning the month of June, the anticipated town of Hempstead opens the Belmont Park gates to thousand of visitors that come and watch the horse races wishing to witness the next Triple Crown winner. Belmont Park is the oldest of the Triple Crown events. One of their most popular horse Secretariat established the world record for a mile and a half. Due to this epic event Belmont became popular. The Horse race aficionados celebrate the opening day by wearing their best garments for the occasion. Some of the ladies will wear an elegant, sophisticated sombrero while the men exhibit their searsucker suits or jackets
