Cannon Beach is a very cute little beach town, with lots of options for coffee and food and very popular so it tends to draw quite a crown. The beach is lovely and has good views of Haystack Rock. At the very south end of town is Tolovana Beach State Recreation site which might be the best place to find parking. We often park there and grab coffee and a cookie at Sea Level Bakery then walk north along the beach towards downtown Cannon Beach. We'll get lunch and then walk back. Cannon Beach is about 1.5 hours away but can take much longer if there is traffic.

Oceanside is a tiny beach town with limited food options, but one perhaps our favorite because of its beautiful beach and limited crowds. This beach also has great views of Haystack Rock. Oceanside is an hour and 40 minutes away, but is sometimes faster than other beaches due to traffic.
