If you fly kites, or just watch, this is a great place to spend an hour or half a day -- especially a day when you can't get out into the beach. The sheer beauty of these flyers is amazing.

Great views, great sight itself, access via either of two easy trails. One's wide and direct, the other passes the Coast Guard quarters and store using the old lighthouse-keeper's walkway. Uphill from the parking lot is an amazing view north that takes in the whole peninsula.

Uphill from the parking lot is an amazing view north that takes in the whole peninsula.
Historic lighthouse overlooks the Columbia River bar. It's a steep climb but worth it. Along the way, a little trail dips down to Dead Man's Cove, a stunning little beach with cliffs each side. (Watch for sneaker waves!)
