There are great walking trails and it is free. On clear days, downtown Atlanta and Stone Mountain are visible. It's very popular weekends.

It holds one of the largest collections of Civil War artifacts in the country. Additionally, the Cyclorama, which is a Civil War cylindrical panorama of the Battle of Atlanta is being relocated to the AHC from Grant Park where it had been for more than 100 years.
