Maybe stop at Mälarpaviljongen, an outdoor café/bar/restaurant by the water. Then continue and climb the bridge Västerbron for a magnifient view over the central waters of Stockholm. In the background you'll see the City Tower and Old Town.

To get there, either take the old ferry from the area beside the City Tower or use the public transportation (metro and bus). I highly recommend the old ferry to get there.

To get there, either take the old ferry from the area beside the City Tower or use the public transportation (metro and bus). I highly recommend the old ferry to get there.
Big island with mostly nature. This is were the king in the old times kept his animals.
Nowadays you also find museums, zoo, old ship building area, restaurants, cafés, galleries, old big and beautiful villas etc. here.
This is also where you find Skansen (big outdoor Swedish historical museum and zoo), the old Vasa ship, the general historic museum and other museums.

Big island with mostly nature. This is were the king in the old times kept his animals.
Nowadays you also find museums, zoo, old ship building area, restaurants, cafés, galleries, old big and beautiful villas etc. here.
This is also where you find Skansen (big outdoor Swedish historical museum and zoo), the old Vasa ship, the general historic museum and other museums.
A nice park to stroll around and enjoy all the "koloniträdgårdar" (small garden spots to rent) with they're mini-villas.
In the summer there's even a small beach. There are also mini golf, boule and a sauna.
Continue the walk along Årstaviken and stop for a coffea, drink or food somewhere along the waters.

Explore the archipelago
You can take ferries out in the archipelago. Either from town center or by first take a bus for 30 min to save some time and then jump on a boat that will take you further out to villgaes or wild islands with or without forests.

An easy and nice route to get the feeling of it is to take a ferry to the island and city of Vaxholm (45 min). In the summer a very popular place for both locals and tourists. Perfect place to have lunch or a coffee and enjoying the view of the water, passing boats, etc. Or the old fortress on the small island beside.
