Traveling to Yellowstone National Park from Red Lodge is a fantastic two hour driving experience through some of the most beautiful scenery imaginable. There are two routes ending at the North East Entance to Yellowstone over the Beartooth Highway (summer months only), and through Cody, Wyoming to the East Entrance (summer months only). Yellowstone National Park closes to car traffic during the winter months. This is an all day adventure and travelers should start their day very early! Always be prepared for changing weather conditions. Some of our mountain passes can take you to 11,000 feet elevation and you may wish to have a sweater or even a warm jacket, especially during the shoulder seasons and winter months. Our mornings and evenings can also be cool even in the summer months, so pack those long pants, warm socks, and maybe some PJ's.. just in case!

We are located at the base of the Beartooth Mountains and out door adventures abound! Our town was originally an 1880's old-west mining town, where immigrants came from all over for work. We also have great family ski hill and Nordic center in winter. If hiking our beautiful mountain trails in Montana and Yellowstone National Park is part of your experience remember to bring along that knapsack and dependable footwear and also it is highly recommended you should carry Bear-Spray with you at all times. Please be sure it is located on your person, and quickly and easily accessible as possible. Bear-Spray is common, and can be purchased at most sports retail shops, and convenience stores, throughout our area.
