Working with clay is mesmerizing - and challenging. After a tour of the studio, guests will don aprons and sit down at their own wheels to "throw" up to 5 pieces. We work "hands-on," with each person to insure that you make at least 1 or 2 beautiful vessels. If you decide that you want to "finish" your pieces, there are 4 more steps: trimming, bisqueing, glaze and high-firing. The process takes about a month, and the potters at FIRESTICK will do this work for you for a fee of $15 per piece. This price includes a glazing class, if you'd like to come back within 3 months, or you may select your colors (from more than 40 finishes) and we'll glaze for you. After that, we can ship your pottery anywhere in the country. AS A SAFETY MEASURE, ALL POTTERY WORKSHOPS ARE LIMITED TO 8 PEOPLE. Wheels are placed far apart and masks are required. Our studio is "open-air" so dress appropriately! HAND-BUILDING and SCULPTING. Some guests (especially kids under 10) prefer "handbuilding," rather than "throwing on the wheel." Prior to boarding, pose like a seasoned pro for a photo shoot with the airplane. Once you’re on board, the pilot will give you an overview of the instruments and controls. After getting clearance from the tower, you’ll taxi to the runway for takeoff. Once at cruising altitude, you’ll learn basic flying skills in the training area over the Simi Valley. Then, grab hold of the controls and feel free to move about the skies, exploring LA by air. Finally, in preparation for landing, you’ll come back down to earth at Van Nuys Airport. Other things to note IMPORTANT : This experience is currently only offered as a private experience. The guest has to book both spots on the experience and will be allowed to bring an additional guest to sit in the back seat. Only one guest will be in the front seat. OUR GOAL IS FOR YOU TO HAVE AN EXCELLENT EXPERIENCE SURFING - whether its your first time or you're trying to advance your skills. We'll get suited up in the wetsuits I provide, grab the surfboards (we don't use 'one size fits all' Wavestorm boards - we offer custom boards in a variety of sizes to fit your needs) and head down to the sand. For the first 20-30 minutes we’ll be training on the beach, then it’s 60-80 minutes with an instructor in the ocean. The remaining time is yours to practice your skills and have fun in the water. The classes are taught by myself or one of our great instructors. We usually have the 2nd instructor helping in the water when the group exceeds 6-7 people. We will take photos of you in and out of the water in the last 10-15 minutes of the experience. These are not professional pics but a great memory for you, your friends and family. As you climb your way up the hill with your new pals in tow, you’ll be exercising and socializing the dogs, and letting locals know they’re up for adoption. So what we'll do: I will meet you at one of the most popular locations in LA - near the Griffith Observatory. This is a very interesting and beautiful place with a nice view to entire city. We will be able to take many beautiful photos near the observatory and mountains with a nice view. By the way, I know a lot of great spots for pictures there :) Also, I'll show you the Hollywood sign and we'll walk to the sign closer where I'll take few beautiful pictures of you. I'm sure that you'll feel like a local and discover the real LA vibe. Don't worry if you don't have much experience in front of the camera. I will help you pose and make the experience very easy, enjoyable and memorable. All my clients always praise me for easy communication, good atmosphere and the mood they get after. High Horse Malibu offers private and semi-private (up to four riders) horseback rides in one of the most secluded and scenic areas in Malibu! Our trails traverse rolling hills, wooded canyons, and striking rock formations, with sweeping ocean vistas around every corner! A one of a kind experience you won't forget. Right after you book you'll receive an email from us collecting some basic info (physical stats, riding experience, etc.) so that we have the perfect horses tacked and ready when you arrive. Upon arrival you'll be introduced to your guide and acquainted with your horse. We start every ride off with a ten to fifteen minute riding lesson to get you comfortable and confidant. When everyone feels good - we hit the trail! There are plenty of opportunities to take photos and enjoy the beautiful scenery along the ride. Our goal is for everyone who rides with us to leave with an appreciation for horses and a love of riding! Things to note: If you plan to take an Uber or other ride share service - please make arrangements for pick up prior to being dropped off. It is difficult (sometimes impossible) to get cell service at the ranch depending on your provider. The rider weight limit is 200lbs. Exceptions made for riders over 6ft tall. Animal and nature lovers can spend a morning or afternoon with the goats, sheep, alpaca, camel, horses, chickens, ducks, parrots, bunnies, Guinea pigs and pot belly pigs of Rancho Grande. This true Californian lifestyle paddleboarding experience and photoshoot will begin near the iconic Malibu Pier. This is an ocean-based paddleboarding lesson and experience, with minimal waves due to the shape of the bay. We stay close to shore, at a relaxed pace. The paddleboards are easy to balance on and can also be used sitting down like a kayak. There is a good chance we will see local ocean wildlife like seals, starfish, and dolphins. I will be capturing our paddleboarding adventure on my GoPro from start to finish. I include at least 20 pictures and 1 video per session. This allows you to completely immerse yourself in this experience. You will receive your high-quality photos and video via Airdrop as soon as we return to the parking lot. We takeoff from Torrance Airport whose origins are traced back to World War II. Airborne we will fly over such amazing Los Angeles landmarks, such as the Hollywood Sign, downtown Los Angeles, Beverly Hills, Santa Monica, and the Californias beautiful coastline. This is a tour flight. However, after you’ve booked you can inquire about making it a lesson where you could take the controls during the flight. Note this is Not possible on all flights. I use a few different beaches in Malibu so the beach we will be meeting on will be based on the conditions for the day you come. The beaches that I use are between the famous Malibu Pier in Southern Malibu to Zuma Beach in the Northern part of Malibu. Start to finish is 1 1/2 hours. The first 20 minutes we will consist of a beach lesson on the sand where we will go over the basics of surfing. We will go over water safety, paddling, balancing and the proper technique of surfing. Then out in the water for the rest of the time catching waves. My goal is to have you catch as many waves as possible in the time we spend together. I also almost guaranty that you will stand up and ride many waves. Other things to note I will supply surfboards, wetsuits and lesson. This Experience can be booked any time during any day.
