Enjoy the true outdoors with an easy 3/4 - 1 mile private nature hike hosted by a pack of loose, well trained German Shepherd Dogs. The hike starts at our farm in coastal Maine and wanders through a network of trails winding through a natural wild Maine forest. You will be hiking with a large pack of (5 to 12) loose german shepherd dogs of various ages who will want attention along the way! On the walk there are soft forest trails, sometimes mud puddles and slippery footing. Throughout our adventure you will learn tips on hiking with a pack of German Shepherds the way they communicate and what their body language means. Once we return there will be bathroom facilities, snacks and beverages. We will also talk about how we raise and imprint our young shepherds and prepare them as family companions. Your hosts for the nature walk will be either Jennifer, Katie, or both! We began offering pack walks at our open house for our German Shepherd Breeding program, and because of the enthusiasm and popularity, we decided to host this event through Airbnb. We kick off the experience inside a Hasidic home, and learning about what it takes to keep a Kosher home. Then its off to the streets of Crown Heights, starting with exploring the world famous “770” Synagogue, getting a glimpse into the hustle and bustle of daily prayer services. Next stop is a Jewish scribe, seeing up close the intricate details involved in producing the Torah Scrolls. Followed by a walk down the avenue, visiting the local shops, and seeing the traditions dating back to the early 1800’s. You will help us free fly our falcons on the cliffs of La Jolla at the Torrey Pines Gliderport, a National Historical Place and beloved landmark. In our Experience, offered through Total Raptor Experience San Diego, you'll learn how to call and release one of our trained birds using a falconry glove, and admire their aerial skills while they soar above the cliffs. You'll get an up-close and personal view of their mastery of flight as they perform simulated hunting behaviors, swooping, ground-skimming and diving at high speed after a moving target. At the same time we will discuss raptor flight styles and how they contribute to the diverse ecologies of different types of hawks and falcons. There will be plenty of time for questions and pictures with our birds. My hope is to send you home with a new, or perhaps renewed, love for these majestic predators and the environment. We are excited to teach you you how to create your own unique lei po'o (flower crown). You will choose your own tropical flowers and create a unique and beautiful custom piece made with fresh flowers. All of our flowers are locally sourced from local gardens and we support local farmers. We also provide high quality local store bought flowers such as torch ginger, cymbidium orchids, anthuriums, etc. Our workshop is high end because we use high end flowers and natural materials sourced from Polynesia (Lauhala leaves from Tahiti). Known as "Tumbao", "Marcha" or "Rhythm Pattern", you can learn to play this basic Conga pattern used in most popular music today in just 15 minutes. In this two-hour audience participation show, I take you through the history of how the Conga drums have influenced American Music (8 minutes), followed by the "15 minute Conga" lesson, and 60 to 70 minute audience play along to rhythms such as Jazz, Rock, Latin, Soul, Funk, R&B and Pop. We end the lesson with "Oh When The Saints Come Marching In". During the show, I'll also play several Conga Rhythyms from my recently published book to hopefully enlighten the audience to the history of this instrument. Join Captain Joe for a relaxing private boat cruise over to our oyster farm where you will shuck and slurp oysters straight out of the water, and learn about our Shellfish Reef Restoration project. Snorkeling in a whole new way that makes it easier and more fun. Come jet scooter snorkel through the crystal clear waters of Hawaii on this adventure snorkeling tour. Anyone can do this tour as it is for beginners also. I will take you to one of the best snorkeling sites on Oahu to see sea turtles, tons of fish, sea life and dolphins. We will be using our jet propelled underwater scooter devices to create a fun and unique snorkeling experience, unlike any other! This tour will begin with a complimentary pickup from Waikiki at 2412 Koa ave, and a scenic drive to our snorkeling site approx. 30 mins depending which dive site we will be heading too. Dive site choice is dependent on conditions.If you are staying outside of Waikiki, please look at Kahe Point Beach Park on maps, it may be closer for you to meet us there. Please let me know if you choose to do that. Once we arrive, we will go through a safety briefing and jet snorkeling orientation to get you started on this fun filled tour. We accept all skill levels including first timers! Once in the water, we will practice using the Jet devices and begin our snorkeling tour. Majority of the time we will see sea turtles, beautiful corals and lots of beautiful fish. We see dolphins on almost every trip but every once in a while we don't see them so we can not guarantee you will see a dolphin but there is a high probability.
