“For nearly 50 years the San Jose Museum of Art has collected and shared artworks that define the time they were created in. The museum has various exhibitions including one that looks at life post 9/11. The museum is very hands on and encourages people to photograph the artwork and explore everything the museum has to offer. Since its opening the museum has been expanded to cope with the ever growing art collection that is on display to the thousands of visitors this museum attracts.”

“Open 9 - 4 daily Winchester Mystery House is probably the most well-known and publicized attraction in all of San Jose and it’s a must-see while you’re in town! The Winchester Mystery House was once the home of Sarah Lockwood Pardee WInchester, widow of William Wirt Winchester and heiress to the Winchester Repeating Arms Fortune. According to legend, a psychic medium told her she needed to build a home for herself and for all of the spirits of people who were killed by Winchester Rifles. Construction on the home started in 1884 and continued until her death in 1922. The home features trap doors, stairways to nowhere, fake doors, secret passages, and more. This house is definitely worth checking out! ”

“Open 10 - 5 daily Hiller Aviation Museum, located at the San Carlos Airport, is an Affiliate of the Smithsonian Institution. Within the museum, you’ll find a number of early and contemporary aircraft, including replicas of airplanes that were first built in the mid-1800s, and a number of “concept” designs that showcase some of the crazier ideas that aviation inventors have come up with. The open-hangar design allows visitors to wander and take in the sights and information at their own pace. ”

“A very nice and beautiful hiking spot. The parking is plenty and there is a lot of shade during the hiking which allows you to start anytime. Halfway to the vista point there's a cute farm where you can see nice farm animals chilling and roaming around. There are even wild deers roaming around sometimes if you are lucky enough to catch them. Most hikes are pretty easy (about five miles) and offers a great view when you reach the top. You can also challenge yourself with PGE trail which is nine miles. ”

“There's lots of sightseeing and hiking in the Presidio The Presidio, a 1,500-acre park on a former military post, is a major outdoor recreation hub. It has forested areas, miles of trails, a golf course and scenic overlooks. Other highlights include grassy Crissy Field with Golden Gate Bridge views, Civil War–era Fort Point and sandy Baker Beach. Historic buildings house the Walt Disney Family Museum, eateries, homes and businesses like Lucasfilm, with its Yoda Fountain.”

“Alcatraz was the site of the first lighthouse in the Western United States but became a federal penitentiary from 1934-1963, housing famous convicts such as Al Capone and George "Machine Gun" Kelly. Now, this once infamous prison island is part of the Bay Area’s 80,000-acre Golden Gate National Recreation Area. Located one-and-a-half miles from Fisherman's Wharf, Alcatraz is one of the city's most popular attractions. A visit to the island includes a tour of the cell house where visitors can see where the prisoners lived. Although the last inmates were transferred off the island in 1963, the main prison block with its steel bars, claustrophobic (9 x 5-foot) cells, mess hall, library and "dark holes," where recalcitrant languished in inky blackness, is still structurally intact.”

“This old-school movie palace has been a fixture in the Castro neighborhood since 1922. The grand interior and signature pre-show organ music are worth the price of admission alone — but stick around for their ever-changing roster of classic films, spirited sing-alongs, and rotating film festivals. Absolutely one of our favorite destinations in SF!”

Museum
“Visiting the California Automobile museum is a unique and interesting experience – and that is in large part due to the expansive collection of over 150 vehicles on display. Walking through the exhibits will take visitors past cars from 1885 and all the way through to 2011. It is walk through the history of cars and California culture! Our collection is known for being representative of what was actually on the roads over the years. This means that we may even have the car you, your parent, or your grandparent used to drive! From affordable kit cars and Model Ts to luxurious Packards and Lamborghinis, our collection represents all spectrums of cars driven in California over the last 120 year”
