“Location: St. George’s Square behind St. Vitus, Prague Castle Dates: November 23, 2019 – January 6, 2020 Times: Monday – Thursday (9:00 am – 6:00 pm), Friday – Saturday (9:00 am – 7:00 pm) This Prague Christmas market usually boasts about 70 carefully selected stalls with all the same Czech food and drinks you could hope for with a beautiful view of the St. Vitus Cathedral in the background. With fantastic views of the city and another tree lit up right in the middle, the atmosphere of this particular Prague Christmas market is hard to beat.”

“The Astronomical Clock, built in to one side of the Old Town Hall Tower, dates from the 15th century. To fully appreciate the clock's intricate construction, join the crowd in front of the tower to watch the procession of the Twelve Apostles: on the hour, every hour, a small trap door opens and Christ marches out ahead of his disciples, while the skeleton of death tolls the bell to a defiant statue of a Turk. ”

“This square is the commercial and administrative centre of the city as well as the site of important social and historical events. Here you'll find cinemas, theatres, banks, hotels, restaurants, dozens of small and large shops, and administrative centres. The square was created during the founding of the New Town by Charles IV in 1348. Today it is dominated by the National Museum (1885 – 1891) and Josef Václav Myslbek’s statue of the national patron St Wenceslas from 1912.”

“The neighbourhood of Vyšehrad is an amazing neighbourhood that has a lot to offer. Vyšehrad Castle is the domain of the area and offers breathtaking views of Lesser Town and the Prague Castle, relaxing strolls in the beautiful green parks or a refreshing morning jog when there is nobody around. On the other side, there is Náplavka on the river bank, with the farmers market every Saturday and many food festivals all year round. The newly constructed hinged windows that decorate Náplavka with galleries, coffee shops and other establishments behind them are something one of a kind that you cannot find anywhere else! Park Folimanka is ideal for those who seek local vibes, located right under the spectacular Nuselský bridge that blows my mind every time I walk under it. Do not forget to look around a little bit while walking in the streets of the neighbourhood, you might notice some cubist architecture! Overall, the district of Vyšehrad is in my opinion quite underrated, as it has a lot to offer, but nobody is actually talking about it, really. ”
