“Our local stop for a game of disc golf! Champoeg features a unique combination of history, nature, and recreation. This is the site where Oregon's first provisional government was formed by a historical vote in 1843. Situated on the south bank of the scenic Willamette River, Champoeg's acres of forest, fields, and wetlands recreate the landscape of a bygone era. Tour the park's visitor center, Newell House, and Pioneer Mothers Log Cabin museums to discover pioneer life at Champoeg. Take a guided walk to learn what happened to the bustling pioneer town of Champoeg, and how the Donald Manson Barn was built. An 1860s-style garden lies behind the visitor center.”

“Silver Falls State Park - it's just beautiful, any season. Hiking, biking, beautiful cozy old lodge. Quality gift shop run by Friends of the Park. You can see the main waterfall from the day use area on an easy paved walk, or you can hike for miles and miles. Best known for Trail of Ten Falls (10 waterfalls in 7 miles ... pretty epic and highly recommended! Just go prepared and for the conditions if you go). ”

“Drive from Dayton, south on Rt 221 to Wallace Marine Park. The drive is spectacular through some of the most beautiful farm land in the US! It's the Willamette Valley at its' best! There are wonderful walking trails through Wallace Marine Park and a pedestrian bridge that takes you over the Willamette River to Salem's Riverfront Park offers amazing views. No matter what your age - seeing over 40 hand-carved carousel horses on the Riverfront Carousel is amazing. Each horse has its' own sponsor and a unique story.”

“If you are interested in a beautiful drive, a simple yet gorgeous hike, and soaking in natural hot springs ... well head to Bagby Hot Springs. It is run through a partnership of 'Friends of Bagby' and The National Forest Service. Several camping, hiking, fishing, swimming, and sightseeing spots along the way.
