“The Coal Shed Brighton has positioned itself as one of the leading steak and seafood venues in the city and is situated in the heart of The Lanes. The concept is quite unique, take a real charcoal Josper oven, use the freshest and best quality ingredients you can find then cook the ingredients to perfection! The Coal Shed produces great quality signature dishes such as 500g of 35 day dry-aged roast beef available on Sunday’s 12-4pm. Also, at the Coal Shed Brighton they have rotating daily specials and they offer different cuts of meat to suit different tastes, plus they have vegetarian dishes and a children’s menu.”

“Innovative, eclectic small-plate dining in a sleek, industrial-style space with an open kitchen. Hidden away in The Lanes is this stylish, laid-back restaurant, comprising 3 tables and a kitchen counter where you can interact with the chefs. The pared-back menu offers ‘Fish’, ‘Veg’ and ‘Meat’ small plates. Fresh, flavoursome dishes use just a handful of ingredients and deliver well-judged contrasts.”

“As an absolute foodie, this is one of my favorite Fish restaurants in Brighton. A good choice of fresh dishes on the menu coupled with some amazing cocktails from the bar means you can't really go wrong here. There is outside seating should you want to admire some of the many amazing sunsets with your Beau. I would highly recommend it.”

“I loved my flight on the i360, whilst enjoying a glass of bubbles from the onboard bar. A great way to view Brighton from up high and on a glorious day I would highly recommend booking the sunset flight to enjoy some of the most spectacular sunsets Brighton has to offer.”

“Polpo is a bàcaro. This is a Venetian word to describe a humble restaurant serving simple food and good, young Italian wines. Located on a pretty pedestrianised street in the centre of Brighton, the restaurant is near the famous Brighton Dome, numerous shops and the Theatre Royal. Signatures on the menu include cicheti such as fried stuffed olives, arancini, fritto misto and sliced flank steak. Polpo would not be complete without a spritz, and served with both Aperol and Campari, alongside Negronis and Bellinis. ”

“Creative fish/seafood dining in an unpretentious setting, with regional produce and local artworks. Will definitely need to book ahead of visit as small intimate setting. The Little Fish Market is proof positive that good things really do come in small packages. Hidden down a nondescript side street in Hove, this teeny but terrific fish restaurant has room for just 20 diners across a handful of tables. The Little Fish Market is owned by the fittingly named Duncan Ray – a chef who used to work at Heston Blumenthal’s Michelin-starred The Fat Duck in Bray. At The Little Fish Market, Ray creates seriously refined food in a tiny basement kitchen, while his sidekick Rob takes care of front of house “in the best possible way”. The fixed-price tasting menu is a constantly evolving affair (dishes change every 4-6 weeks) dictated by the catch from the local boats, although diners can expect “magnificent” dishes packed with flavour. Dishes you might find on the menu include celeriac with seaweed potato and hispi cabbage, followed by a mussel curry served with apple. Desserts are a highlight too, with options including the likes of a Valhrona chocolate tart and mandarin with cacao nib. ”

“Good place for a night of intimate music BUT, maybe one only for the gritty, real music lovers out there. Drinks in plastic cups, questionable toilets, little space at times... Not for everyone!”

“Ten Green Bottles has become the go to destination for those who love a great quality glass (or two) or wine served by the most knowledgeable team in town. Located centrally (off the North Laine) and offering a chilled, comfortable atmosphere, it’s the perfect place for a pre-dinner drink or after work tipple.”
