Welcome to The Oliver! This stunning, luxury RV / Tiny Home is located in the heart of the high desert, just 5 minutes outside of Joshua Tree National Park's west entrance.

The Tiny Home's interior has been completely renovated and designed by an architect and the fine finishes have been meticulously constructed by a skilled carpenter. This home is now an innovative, eco friendly, beautifully designed piece of art. The Oliver has also been featured on CBS & Amazon Prime's "Staycation".

This former short-bus "skoolie" was purchased just after it was retired by a local school district in Washington state. At 22 feet in length and 8.5 feet in width, it made the perfect fit for a beautiful tiny home conversion. The roof was also raised during the conversion, so there is a whopping 7.5 feet of headroom, making the interior feel super spacious and truly like a real house.

Upon entering this radiant home, one is immediately drawn to the brand new flooring and walls of windows which flood the space with natural light during the day and stargazing at night. The first of the two cozy sleeping spaces is located in the back of the bus and fits a full sized mattress. There are a variety of storage options located throughout the home, including a three drawer dresser under the bed, along with the back-half of the bathroom, that doubles as a closet for clothes that require hanging. The home is illuminated by LED lighting with dimmers throughout, allowing for a tranquil ambiance.

The Oliver's modern and fully equipped kitchen is conveniently situated in the center of the bus, boasting beautiful quartz countertops, a large, 9" deep sink, as well as additional storage options via the overhead cabinets and drawers, and a two burner gas stove. This area also houses an energy efficient instant hot water heater and propane tank. A full, 5 foot wide bathroom with a standing shower is located adjacent to the kitchen space. In the living/dining room the two comfy sofas are able to convert into another full size bed, offering an additional sleeping area.

*** Please Note *** At this time, the tankless hot water heater in the bus is unfortunately under repair. As such, the kitchen sink will only feature cold water for the time being, until the repair is completed. For showering during your stay, guests are able to use an external bathroom that is located less than a 1 minutes walk away from the bus, at the "Joshua Tree Plaza" (seen in the pictures), a private bathroom that is available exclusively for guests of the Oliver. You can also use hair dryers and hair curlers in this bathroom, which are prohibited in the bus, due to their drain on the solar batteries. Please accept our sincere apologies for any inconvenience and our appreciation of your understanding as we work hard to complete this repair ASAP.

What is there to do in Joshua Tree?

 Check out the Joshua Tree Farmer’s Market, 8 a.m. ‘til noon Saturday’s at Tortoise Island. Shop the endless Thrift stores (Angel View in the Vons shopping center for one) and then there are the Antique stores in the East end of Yucca Valley, many around Pioneertown Road on 29 Palms Hwy. Try the Yucca Valley Swap Meet at the old drive-in theater at Old Woman Springs Road and Hwy 62, Sat & Sun 7 – 1.

 Live Music: Tuesday is open-mic night at the Joshua Tree Saloon on Hwy 62, it shouldn’t be missed!

 Don’t miss Pappy & Harriet’s, the quintessential honky-tonk, in Pioneertown, open Thursday-Monday (Monday is open-mic night!) where an eclectic crowd gathers for live music, great grub and drinks – reservations are HIGHLY recommended.

 Stroll around Pioneertown a movie-set town built by Roy Rogers and Gene Autry as a place not only to make westerns, but also as a place for back-lot people to live. This is not a touristy town. There are real folks living in Pioneertown, there are a few shops and plenty of photo ops on Mane St, at the west end you’ll see the OK Corral!! Sat & Sun afternoon from fall to spring local dress up & have a shootout.

 Feeling adventurous? How about a day-long rock climbing lesson? A thrilling way to experience the rocks – look for links for climbing guides on my website.

 Joshua Tree Excursions will create a private, customized excursion in JTNP for you! Desert Adventure Eco-Jeep Tour – they also have hiking and sightseeing guides.

 What could be more relaxing after a long hike then getting a Massage? Contact info on my website.

 Doing YOGA, for one!! Pick from a variety of classes at Instant Karma.

 Artist Noah Purifoy has created a wondrous Desert Sculpture world out on the Mesa. This is truly a unique desert experience.

 Visit the many art galleries, like Joshua Tree Art Gallery (JTAG) and Art Queen (home of the world famous crochet museum!!) in JT & many others throughout the Morongo Basin.

 Want to ride? A horse, of course! For greenhorns and experienced riders alike, get your yee-haw on at Knob Hill Ranch or Yucca Valley Equestrian Center. If you ride from the Coyote Ridge Stables, the Morongo Valley Nature Preserve is nearby.

 For those seeking a truly unique experience, head out to the mysterious Integratron to get a Sound Bath – reservations required, and visit nearby Giant Rock (Split Rock).

 Visit Gubler’s Orchid Farm to meet carnivorous plants and even ship some of the exotica home.

 Go to Smith’s Ranch to see a drive-in movie!

 Peruse the local “star sites” (as in rock n’ roll). The Harmony Motel where U2 did the Joshua Tree album is on 29 Palms Hwy on your right as you are going from here into 29 Palms. Watch for murals in 29 Palms. The other place of pilgrimage is the Joshua Tree Inn where Gram Parsons did himself in and Cap Rock, where his ashes were spread. And you never know who might show up at Pappy’s!

 For real Stars, shooting stars, constellations the Moon and the Milky Way just turn your gaze upward, from wherever you are! You can rent a telescope or attend a star party with Coyote Telescope and Sky’s The Limit Observatory, Or stay in and get a Nightsky Narration on site!

 The Joshua Tree Railroad Museum just around the way.

 Drive to Desert Hot Springs to soak in mineral springs and visit quirky Cabot’s Indian Pueblo Lodge.

 And, oh yes, the endless hikes, drives and walks in the Park. The Ranger-guided walking tour of Keys Ranch is wonderful! If you have 4WD, the 18-mile Geology Motor Tour is a must.
