A secure, tranquil home in a 'Privada' (cul-de-sac). High-demand, established area, gated at night and very private. Mature trees make a bird sanctuary amidst gardens.

Say "buenos dias" (good morning), "buenas tardes" (good afternoon) and "buenas noches" (good night). The locals will think you civilized if you do. No one here passes another person without acknowledging.
Semi or fully (when we are away) private pool, garden & BBQ.

Steps to the lake & boardwalk. No hills or stairs to climb.

Mekân
The Mexican DAY OF THE DEAD (Oct 31 - Nov 5th). Walk to the Old Pantheon and see one of the finest celebrations in the area. Low prices for those days!

(Need MORE Space?) Search 'Galeanas' - our new property next door. Same 5 star quality and larger but without a pool.

Leave your car at home. (Gated street parking if needed.)

Casita (bungalow) all on one level. (750 sq feet, 70+ sq meters)

Charming, just renovated two-bedroom, on quiet tree-lined privada (private cul-de-sac). New, well-equipped galley kitchen with rosa-morada wood cabinets, granite counter tops, four burner gas cook-top and electric counter-top oven. Each bedroom has en-suite three-piece. Spacious living/dining room with fireplace and glass wall opening onto mature garden. Eat outdoors at table and chairs under an umbrella. Own washer and dryer provided.
Prime, central location, minutes from the lake and the Malecon (paved promenade along the lake). Beautiful garden and salt-water, solar-heated pool. Our privada has gates that are locked at night. Food shopping just 5 minute walk up the road. Fifteen minute walk to Ajijic square, cultural center, beautiful clothing, jewelry and gift stores, and excellent cafes and restaurants.
If you need more space, but not a pool, take a look at 'Galeanas' (Tulip Trees) our other (much larger) property on the Privada. Just enter that name in the search bar.

Nerede olacaksınız?

Ajijic, Jalisco, Meksika

Everyone in Ajijic knows the Seis Esquinas neighborhood (Barrio de Guadalupe) as safe and friendly. Safe, peaceful, tranquil and beautiful.

3 minute stroll to the palm-lined Malecon (lakeside promenade).
15 minute level walk to town square through town or along the Malecon.
5 minute walk to great local veggie and meat/poultry stores. Our corner of Ajijic village is called Seis Esquinas (Six Corners) considered to be highly desirable for its central location and the color of local life. (Why else go anywhere?)

Most of the Restaurants in Ajijic are within easy walking distance.
From priciest to most reasonable (by International standards, ALL are reasonably priced):
St Remy, French, real crepes, profiteroles and wonderful sauces.
Hacienda del Lago, Mexican, International. (with attached spa).
Go, Chef Pedro from Toronto, with a long restarauteur history, serves up an ever-changing menu in a beautiful environment (often with music)
Mannix, one of the first in Ajijic and still excellent.
Ajijic Tango, Steaks and mixed menu including vegetarian, A TripAdvisor 5 star.
Telares, across from Tango, also a favorite.
Cocinart, newer but rapidly becoming a favorite.
Isabel's, in the Vieja (old) Posada at the start of the Malecon. A restored two hundred year old inn with tables overlooking the lake and the malecon.
El Jardin, on the main square. Good people watching. Consistently good burgers (and you choose rare, medium, well-done) and Mexican standbys like Chiles Poblano Breaded stuffed mildly hot peppers) and Mole Chicken (in chocolate sauce.)

In the evenings, at around 8PM, 'comida casera' (homemade cooking) starts being served. What looked like a residence during the day, brings out cooking carts and tables and chairs and you can get some of the best tacos and fajitas you ever had, for a song. These happen all over town.
We do not have addresses. But you cannot miss them as you stroll.
There are really too many restaurants to list and mention. Many are as good as the ones I named.

Two Catholic Churches are within walking distance. One is just four minutes away. The Main Catholic Church in the square (St Andres) has an English language service on Sundays at the very least.
For more information for English-language Anglican, Baptist, Evangelical, Synagogues, etc. drop us a line.

My wife and I are retired arts administrators, educators, translators/interpreters.
Depending on season and circumstance you may or may not meet us in Ajijic but our property manager speaks good Spanish/English, our housekeeper Reyna speaks good Spanish. One of them will greet you and assist you should you have problems. You will have their cellphone numbers. We are almost always an Email away.

We like: 1. Being 'foodies' 2. Movies ('talkies' actually) with subtitles 3. Books - right now, Jordan Peterson's Twelve Rules for Life and Bluebeard by Kurt Vonnegut as well as Short Stories by Robert Graves.

Life Motto: 1. 'Run Away!' and 2. 'Cowardice is the Greatest Sin.'

Ours is the 'casa' you may spot in the photos, across the bridge and the pool from your 'casita'. Our casita comes with an extensive manual and our Mexican bi-lingual property manager, Liz Verar, who speaks fluent English, is a phone-call away. When absent, we also frequently check our Emails.
