I will give you Indian cooking basics over a cup of spice tea, then go over the dishes we will be cooking.
We will typically create a mini, vegetarian, thali meal with 3 dishes from the following general menu: a starter like bhajia/pakora, a dal aka lentil dish, or a bean curry (protein!), sabji : vegetable dish, a chutney, raita: an Indian salad, pulao: spiced rice dish, a dessert. Baked samosa or street food. It's an open menu as Indian food is extremely varied, and there is also the season, etc to consider.

After the intro. I will play Indian music & we will chop & prep. I will demonstrate frying spices (the key to Indian cooking). You will see, smell, taste and learn about spices, well as spice mixes like Garam Masala, Madras Curry Powder (yah!) and cooking techniques. I give in-depth info. and detailed recipes so you can confidently cook at home.
Then the meal! You'll enjoy the wine/beer you may have brought. Weather permitting we'll sit on the terrace. This is a social time to talk about Indian food & culture (it's very rich) and chat more generally.
Prepare a lip-smacking meal in a friendly ambience, help a bit with clean-up. Leave with a smile on your face. I will send you the 3 detailed recipes by e-mail.
