I'll teach you how you can let the Earth heal you while you work to heal her. Nature Practice - a curated collection of methods from ancient world traditions that help make our daily life & spiritual practice more nature-centered, helps to improve our inner wellbeing as well as our relationship with the earth. Depending on conditions, we'll meet at one of my favorite spots - a trusted corner of the coast which has helped me find calm and clarity. We'll weave together a mix of experiences: GUIDANCE I'll offer guidance on nature practice and meditating outdoors, drawing on the wisdom of my indigenous & Buddhist teachers related to deepening our connection to nature. PRACTICE We'll have an opportunity to practice together. I'll guide you through different mindfulness practices. We'll be doing seated and a bit of walking meditation. JOURNALING We'll capture our thoughts, poetry, sketches and reflections in our notebooks. SHARING A good part of our retreat will be in silence but we'll also have a chance to get to know one another and to learn from each other when we open up our circle for for sharing & conversation.

As a nature mindfulness guide & documentary filmmaker, I love to teach environmentally-engaged professionals and activists learn how to let the Earth heal them while they work to heal her. Growing up, my parents were quite adventurous and they would often take us to the wilderness and to visit indigenous communities in Venezuela. From an early age, I gained an appreciation for what it means to be attuned to the outdoor world. I've also been fortunate to study with the Dalai Lama for more than 20 yrs, with Thich Nhat Hanh at his monastery, and received certification as a professional nature mindfulness teacher with Mark Coleman of Awake in the Wild.
