First you get to know the background of our art activity BUGAKU - Samurai Arts.
Next, I explain about Samurai Armor in detail.
Then we start the physical practice of Samurai Martial Arts!
You'll have the lesson of basic Samurai movements including Ninja-walk, and a variety of wooden sword movements.
Not only will I teach you the proper form but the long-held samurai code of propriety and ways of thinking.
Learn how to carry yourself like a TRUE SAMURAI !
We are looking forward to having practice with you all around the world !!

I'm the master and founder of our Samurai Art - BUGAKU 武楽.
It's the dynamic performing arts; the cultural fusion of Japanese traditional martial arts and Japanese traditional performing arts like Noh-theatre that Samurai practiced and loved.

With over 30-year martial arts experience, I've taught BUGAKU for 15 years to Japanese and foreign students, and performed all around the world such as London, Florence, Berlin, Paris, Moscow, Jerusalem, Shanghai, San Paulo and more.
I received three Higashi-Kuninomiya Imperial Awards for the international cultural and peaceful contribution in Japan, and in 2019, received the 1st prize selected by the audience in the international theatrical prize in Milan !
Co-host Makoto is an assistant & one of BUGAKU instructors

Koshiro-sensei and his assistant provided a wonderful presentation and lesson that provided great insight on both the history of samurai and a simple to understand lesson in sword play. Make sure you have a practice sword or something similar on hand before the lesson or you'll end up like me and have to use whatever you can find which in my case happened to be a spatula. LOL All in all it was a great experience. Thank you!

The class was so much fun! This is how my boyfriend described it “My brother and I received this class as a gift from my girlfriend and exceeded our expectations! Koshiro was very friendly and patient with us given this was our first time learning and practicing with samurai culture. This experience is fantastic, loads of fun. The hosts are lovely, tour or the armour/weapons was great, there's loads to see - and Koshiro is a wonderful Sensei! Was great fun getting to learn/demo some moves and the hosts got some screenshots for us to take away afterwards. They also very thoughtfully personalised a Happy Birthday message asfter they learned it was my birthday that day! Give this a try, promise you it's worth it.

I cannot express in words how grateful I am to be able to have such experience like this! It was fantastic. All the explanation was on point, the sensei is very patient and we practiced a lot till I feel ready to do all the movements. I felt as if I were in another world (because of the culture difference) and it was incredible. I recommend to everyone who want to know much more about respect, samurais and the Japanese culture while feel like a Samurai. Thank you very much!!

Wonderful experiential learning! My family and I enjoyed our historical and cultural introduction to Samurai/Bugaku. My son, who studies kung fu, really enjoyed the chance to practice his footwork and swordplay. Can’t wait to attend in person when we visit Japan!
