Every parrot has a story. You’ll learn all about our rainbow-colored rescues in Kona’s only parrot sanctuary. We’ll start with our mission: to give every displaced parrot a nutritious diet, large space to fly, and a safe place to interact with other parrots (and people). Next, we'll take a walk around the sanctuary, where you can get to know the range of personalities of cockatoos, lovebirds, macaws, and more species. Throughout the tour, you will have many photo opportunities, especially with our well-trained parrots.

I grew up on the Big Island and have always been surrounded by lush trees, the captivating ocean, and tropical animals that give Hawaii an energy that can’t be replaced. Our family started noticing a large amount of parrots who outlived their owners (parrots can live up to 100 years)! There was no place for them to call home, so we decided to build one. Since then, my family has rescued parrots globally for the last 18 years.

Parrots in Paradise Sanctuary

Parrots in Paradise Sanctuary offers rescue, rehoming and rehabilitation, and presently is called home by more than 90 parrots from around the world. Displaced parrots find sanctuary and can live out the the remainder of their days living in community with a nutritious diet, the ability to fly, and interaction with other parrots and people. Parrots in Paradise Sanctuary is a 501 C 3 non-profit.
