In this fun class, you will learn how to make four different mochi dishes! We will start class by hand-pounding glutinous sweet rice into authentic mochi. Next, you will enjoy a savory traditional Japanese mochi soup.
Second, we will make a sweet version mochi: fresh mochi filled with sweet red bean and fresh strawberries!
Third, we will make a pink rosewater mochi, followed by matcha mochi, for our fourth dish.
We will end class by making green tea mochi ice cream!
Sweet red bean paste, fresh strawberries (upon availability), and chocolate will be available to fill your mochi with.
You will get to eat a lot of mochi, and best of all take home a box with lots of homemade mochi to share!
*If you are vegan, you can bring vegan ice cream with you. Please let me know if you are vegan in advance so I can prepare the vegan soup.
**All dishes are gluten-free! (*however, we use normal miso for the soup)
