Neler yapacaksınız

Arrive at Kesennuma Station, and then we'll head to the Motoyoshi (southern) region of town. We'll take a walk to Hikado Fishing Port, one of the base camps for fishermen who do stationary net fishing. The walk to the sea will give you a better idea of how extensive the damage in 2011 tsunami was. At Hikado we'll take a tour of the pier and the fishermen's workshop and I'll explain the methods used in stationary net fishing. The fishermen in the workshop might be fixing nets, maintaining tools or just chilling out, but you can also ask them any questions you might have. Then, we'll pick out a fish from the day's catch to make sashimi with. We'll start by learning the art of sharpening a fish knife. Sashimi prep is all about precision, and precision starts with having a good cutting edge! Cutting up a fish can be a daunting task, but with guidance from master fisherman, Kazuki Kasahara you'll be on your way to being a pro. When we're done, it's time to eat! Enjoy your sashimi as we listen to tales from fishermen who have sailed the world over. When we're done, it's time to walk back and return to Kesennuma Station. (If you'd like to be picked up or dropped off at a different location, just let me know!)

Nishant

My name is Nishant, and I work for the Kesennuma Tourism Bureau. I've been hosting experiences in this community for three years now. Kesennuma is a fishing town first, so on this experience we'll be visiting Hikado Fishing Port. I'm also an official guide for Kesennuma's wholesale Fish Market, so I can give you insight into how the Japanese seafood industry works. My co-host for this experience is Kazuki Kasahara, he's a stationary net fisherman who works at Hikado. In addition to working as a fisherman, he also runs an organization called Hamawarasu, which is dedicated to teaching the local kids about the ocean and showing visitors to Kesennuma all the little wonders that our town has to offer.
